Big Box Card Basket Strawberries

Hello crafty friends, today I want to share with you a tutorial for the berry sweet Big Box Card Basket Strawberries (SVG, Silhouette), from Lori Whitlock!

As you most of you know Strawberry projects are my favourite, so I couldn't wait to make this card.

First step was to cut out all my pieces.

Next step is to layer & glue all your pieces, making sure to match correctly all the strawberry leaves to the green background panel before you glue. You will need to fold down the basket flaps then adhere the scalloped panels on the folded side down. The file comes with 2 flowers but as you will see, I cut some extra flowers to use as embellishments. I also inked the centres of my white flowers with some distress oxide before I glued down the circle centres or added the enamel dots. There are also some extra strawberries in the file, you can cut these if you wish for the strawberries to be seen from the back as well as the front. Note: make sure you flip the large strawberries horizontally if you wish to add these to the back of the card, remember you are doing the reverse side.

Now it's time to put your box card together & assemble the basket. Start by folding down all the scored lines. Now glue the tabs on the inside of the box. I find the best way to do this is by folding the box flat to get the tabs nice & straight along the edge.

Next is to adhere the inside panels inside the box. These are numbered 1, 2 & 3. I started out by glueing number 2 first in the centre as I found this helped me space them evenly. Flatten your project as the glue dries each time to make sure the tabs adhere.

To finish off I adhered the strawberry onto the front using pop dots and embellished with some of the extra flowers. I also tied a bow onto the basket handle.

Hope you like my Big Box Card Basket Strawberries! This file is also be found in the Big Box Card Basket Bundle, which includes Big Box Card Basket Big Box Card Basket Flowers, Big Box Card Crafty & Big Box Card Basket Sunflowers, (SVG)

Paper: Doodlebug Design - Petite Prints

Scarecrow

Hello everyone, Spring has definitely sprung in Australia & I have truly enjoyed spending quality time in the garden, but more of that in a later post.

For all my Northern Hemisphere friends it is now Autumn/Fall in your part of the world, which brings me to today's post. Rachelle Anne Miller has a bonus release this month which is an old stamp from the archives with a Fall/Autumn theme called Scarecrow. You may have seen it in the past as a clear stamp, but now it is available for purchase as a digital stamp.

What I love about the Scarecrow stamp is that you are not just limited to using her for Autumn themed projects, so for my card today I have created a pretty Spring themed card. A garden wouldn't be complete without a Scarecrow, right!

After choosing my pretty paper, (not sure about you but this seems to be the hardest part of the process for me😂), I layered & embellished with die cuts, flowers & flower shaped sprinkles. I penciled in my "Sending Hugs" Sentiment. The Scarecrows frame comes blank, so you can add any wording you wish.

Copic Markers:
Face: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20
Clothes: BG0000, BG10, BG11, BG13, R81, R83, R85, Y11, Y15, Y18
Post: E51, E53, E55, E57
Straw: YR0000, Y21, Y23
Bird: V01, V04
Grass: YG41, G0000

Scarecrow is available in digital stamp here.

Sweet Strawberry Parfait

Hi all, tomorrow is the first day of March here in the Southern Hemisphere. First day of Autumn, which also means that Spring is upon those who live in the Northern part of our world.

Last month Elisabeth Bell asked her Facebook followers what sort of Spring images they would like for her to draw. She promised she would pick one suggestion & turn it into a new image.

The first thing that came to mind for Spring was Strawberries. Takes me back to my childhood growing up on a Strawberry farm.

Last week she made the announcement of the winning suggestion & to my excitement she took on board my idea with the strawberries & also another great suggestion of rainbows from another follower & turned those ideas into this beautiful new image.

Introducing "Strawberry Parfait"! Isn't she just adorable & sweet!!! Reminds me of my childhood with Strawberry Shortcake & Rainbow Brite.

Strawberry Parfait is available free now to all Elisabeth Bell Creative Club members. To join the Creative Club you can find it here.

Paper: Doodlebug Design - Petite Prints
Colouring Medium: Copics

Lulu Bee

Hello everyone I am back again today to share some inspiration for the Paper Nest Dolls. With Spring in the air here in Australia I decided to make some Spring insect themed cards in the coming weeks. Today I am sharing a card I made using Lulu Bee. She is such a super sweet image & it wasn't hard to get creative & create a matching card.

I searched the internet & purchased some pretty digi paper from Etsy from a store called Dandelionery. I then just matched it up with Petite Print papers from Doodlebug Design. With my die cuts I was originally going to use matching coloured paper but found that they got lost into the background. Then I decided to use gold cardstock & I just love how it turned out! Made the die cuts pop, not to mention coordinated nicely.

You cannot tell from the photos, but I coloured Lulu's wings & the vellum on the die cut bees with some Wink of Stella to add some shimmer. Then I finished off by embellishing with some pretty flowers!

Keep your eye out for my next post which will feature another adorable Spring garden cutie.

Lulu Bee is available in rubber here & in digital format here.

Supplies:
Colouring Medium: Copics
Paper: Doodlebug Design - Petite Prints
Digital Paper: Dandelionery - Bumblebee

Strawberry Yummy Tilda

Hello, when I was a young girl I grew up on my parent's strawberry farm. As a child my favourite toy was my Strawberry Shortcake Doll with her sweet scented hair & strawberry shop, remember those?

Today I want to share with you a sweet card using one of my favourite Magnolia stamps, the adorable "Strawberry Yummy Tilda". She is from the Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011. Magnolia stamps were the reason I wanted to learn to colour with Copics. I fell in love with Tilda & Edwin about 2 years ago when I started card making. I have many of these cute Magnolia stamps in my stash & I have made it my mission to start using them more often.

Not sure why, but using a strawberry theme in my card creations has to be one of my favourites, probably because it brings back child hood memories!

Supplies:
Stamp: Magnolia "Strawberry Yummy Tilda" & "Butterfly Kit"
Paper: Maja Design - Summertime in the Garden
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink Walnut Stain
Colouring Medium: Copics
Accessories: Spellbinders Floral Ovals Dies, Go Kreate Dies Square Frame Frilly # 10, Magnolia Doohickey Dies Lovely Fence & Heart Swirl, Joy Crafts Berry Sweet Strawberry, WOC Flowers, Nuvo Drops Morning Dew, Lace, Gesso, Red Glitter Mesh & Cheese Cloth from my stash.
